CHANDELIERS - MADELEINE BOULESTEIX

L'attento Olivier Dupon segnala su Dossier37 la piccola esibizione Chandeliers dell'artigiana Madeline Boulesteix che si tiene a Londra in questi giorni.

L'artista britannica, che espone i suoi lavori fino al 6 novembre presso il Craft Central, una vitale associazione dedicata al patrocinio e allo sviluppo dell'artigianato artistico, spiega che la sua passione per la creazione dei "candelieri" è nata trovando per caso nella spazzatura 40 gocce di cristallo da lampadario. Da quel giorno, affinando sempre più la sua pratica artigiana, Madeline ha scoperto con quanti utensili di uso comune, soprattutto articoli da cucina, fosse possibile strutturare ed abbellire le sue creazioni.

Madeline Boulesteix, che ha alle spalle una formazione all'Art School, unisce la sua indubbia creatività e buongusto nel realizzare pezzi unici dai colori e dalle forme divertenti e indubbiamente decorativi. Sul suo sito internet l'artista spiega che il suo amore per il riuso non nasce da un'intenzione ecologista come banalmente ci si aspetterebbe, bensì dall'eredità della cultura punk quando "una chiusura lampo poteva diventare una cravatta". Riguardo alla pratica del riciclo di oggetti per le sue realizzazioni, rigorosamente uniche e customizzate, Madeline saggiamente dichiara che le consente di combinare il suo desiderio di creare con la possibilità di evitare lo spreco.

Olivier Dupon reported on Dossier37 a post about the exhibition called Chandelier by Madeline Boulesteix, held in London these days. The brtish artist, showing her work until November the 6th at Craft Central, a not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to promote craft and design, says that her passion in making chandeliers  was born after finding  40 facetted glass drops in the rubbish. From that day, practising her crafting art, Madeline discovered how old utensilies, mostly kitchen items,  were useful for her purpose to structure and decorate her creations. Madeline Boulesteix, educated in Art School, combines her creativity and her elegant taste in making some vividly ornamental pieces uniques. Thru her website the artist tells that she's keen on reusing old items for her craft not for some kind of  ecological awarness but from her punk era heritage, when "a big zip became a tie". About the recycling style of her creations,  exclusive custom made objects, Madeline wisely says "Recycling has been around forever, born of a need and not having the luxury to waste but coupled with a basic human desire to create".
